Bend

The name Bend, Oregon always sounds a little like a dirty joke to me. But this photo of downtown Bend proves it’s a wholesome little town.

My ex and I used to go there every year to ski at Mt. Bachelor. We stayed at an awesome little B & B called the Mill Inn. Since it was across the street from the mill, in the ‘olden’ days it was a whorehouse. Last time we went there, I was pregnant with James. The conditions were terrible- icy white-out. But I was determined to ‘make a run’. I made one trip up the lift, then became increasingly aware that I was incubating a human as I carefully skied down. Season over.
Darn kids ruin everything. 😛
