Since December is usually a bit of a quiet month for work, January is usually a bit quiet for publications. But the cogs keep turning, even if slowly, and still had about a dozen articles published – so maybe not so slowly after all. Take a look.
Another year, another Goodreads Challenge. Since I started reading so many graphic novels, setting my challenge goal has been a challenge in itself. On the one hand, I happily recognize graphic novels as real books. On the other hand, it takes about one hour to read a volume of manga, where the average novel takes about 12 hours. So I set a ridiculously high goal that includes both, but I try to sort my results so I can see how much “regular reading” I did apart from “graphic reading.” I’m probably the only person who cares about my reading data, but since I got to read a lot of interesting books last year, you might want to read on to discover some cool stories.
I began the month of December in Hong Kong, where I kept working while my kids trained in kung fu. But when I got home, jetlag and the holidays conspired to slow my output. Even so, I published a few things in December. Hopefully my foggy brain made something better than word salad. Read on and see what you think.
In November, the whole family went to Hong Kong, where the girls met their kung fu teacher’s teacher and trained with him. Because if you have a kung fu master in China, you don’t miss the chance to train with him. It was a working vacation for me, which means I didn’t write anything for this blog while I was gone, but I kept up with my paid deadlines. Read on to see what was published in November.
Ah, back-to-school season. It makes everyone (sample size: one) feels smarter. And it makes sticking to a work schedule much easier. In case you missed anything, here is a roundup of articles I wrote that were published in September and October, and a peek behind the scenes of the blog.
