January of 2021 was my biggest months ever as a freelancer. A nonprofit that I work with was rebranding, and I helped write, edit, or write and edit the copy for every page of their new website. It was a huge project that took up what seemed like all of my time. So I was shocked at the end of the month to discover that I also published about as many articles as I usually do in a typical month. Pow.

I’m certainly not the first person to comment on how strangely time passes during the pandemic, but I might be the most confused by why it should be so. As a freelancer who works from home, the landscape of my life is still my laptop, my days spent at my desk keeping track of deadlines and kids’ schedules. But I’m as surprised as anyone to find that another month has passed, and I have new published articles to share.

It’s also where I report on blog performance and oddities. In October, I helped a local nonprofit with some grant work and had eleven articles published between Earth911.com and ParentMap. The grant applications are not for public consumption, but links to the articles are hot off the press (or hot out of the dryer) below.

September is kind of my favorite month. September is back-to-school, switching t-shirts for sweaters, drinking hot lattes instead of iced. Or at least it usually is. This September was remote learning with scheduling mix-ups, smokestorms, and drinking more home-brewed drip coffee because coffee shops are off-limits. At least I can still bring home the bacon (well, not actually, I don’t eat pork). Anyway, I did get some work done. Read on for a list of things I published in September.
