Solstafir at El Corazon

Solstafir live in Seattle

I always remember how amazing it was the first time Solstafir came to play Barboza in Seattle. I love that place. Sometimes I forget that they came back through in May of 2015 and played El Corazon, too. I don’t love that space, but I can’t seem to get away from it. For over 20 years, through a variety of names, it seems to always be the venue that books the bands I like.

Music I Liked: Decibel Magazine Tour

In October, I resolved to go to a concert every month. I haven’t quite kept that resolution. In February there were three concerts I couldn’t decide among and ended up missing them all. One of the shows under consideration for March was the Decibel Magazine Tour. The logistics weren’t great; a Tuesday at El Corazon. The timing wasn’t great; I had a busy schedule the next day, no babysitter, and my leg was hurting. But at the last minute I dragged my ass out of the house. I’m so glad I did. Read More

Forgotten Epica

When I came home from Iceland Airwaves in 2012, I had prepared some hair of the dog. In this case it was tickets to see Neil Young with my mom at Key Arena on Saturday, and a show with my husband at El Corazon on Sunday. We were there to see Insomnium. I had forgotten Epica was on the bill until I stumbled on this picture.
