Published in May 2020
I delivered a few articles that published in May. Although I wrote for a couple different publications, I think May was the first time that all of my published articles were on Earth911. I also posted some stuff on the blog. If you’re interested in the recap, read on.
Earth911
Starbucks’ Sustainability Promise
Succession Planting for a Successful Garden
I wrote an entire series on climate change:
Climate Change 101: What is Climate Change?
The Consequences of Climate Change
How Can We Stop Climate Change?
And if you care about the answer to the last one, I wrote a whole series on easy to difficult lifestyle changes you can make to cut your own carbon footprint:
Good, Better, Best: Reducing Your Transportation Carbon Footprint
Good, Better, Best: Cutting Your Consumer Carbon Footprint
Good, Better, Best: Cutting Carbon From Home Appliance Use
Good, Better, Best: Cutting Carbon From Heating and Cooling
And a reprint of an old story: Stop the Summer Reading Slide with Eco-Themed Kids Books.

Crooked Road Blog
I published 16 posts on the blog in May – that’s one more than I published in April. The most-read posts in May were:
Pandemic Homeschool Diaries – Chinese Dramas and Office Hours
I suspect this one was popular because it had lots of pretty people in the featured photo.
The Evolution of Pacific Northwest Ballet’s Swan Lake
I’m think PNB streamed its last performance of Swan Lake in May. I missed the stream, but saw the performance they recorded.
Constitution Article 1 Section 8.4: Naturalization
People still seem to be interested in learning more about the Constitution.
Music I Like – Metal-Inflected
There’s a lot of great music that metalheads like even though it isn’t metal.
1000 Pieces at Pacific Northwest Ballet
Originally only viewable by ticket holders, I think PNB made a stream of this widely available as well.
Search Terms
PNB Orchestra pianist christina siemens was a search term last month, too.
cosi fan tutte sexist I love it when I know that someone found exactly what they were looking for here.
epimedium acuminatum ‘night mistress’
What an incredibly specific search term! And I was able to provide what they were looking for. I blogged about this flower a couple years ago when it became the most expensive perennial I ever purchased. It did not survive its second summer in my garden. Alas, my pricey perennial was ephemeral.
