Last week tickets went on sale for the second annual NW Terrorfest. I had planned to buy full three day passes as soon as they went on sale. But then I looked at my balances and thought, “Maybe I’ll wait.” While waiting, I checked out a lot of the bands on the schedule. I haven’t heard everything yet, and I liked most of what I heard, but a few bands made a stronger impression.
Panopticon
All the music bloggers seem to love Panopticon, and now I know why.
Falls of Rauros
I’m a sucker for a Tolkien reference.
Woman is the Earth
Not quite what I was expecting from the post-metal-sounding name, but I liked it.
Necrot
Another familiar name I hadn’t really listened to before. Plus, isn’t that a nazgul on the cover?
Gatecreeper
Hey, these guys are from Arizona!
Lago
So are these! I never hear cool bands from my home state, and now two are playing the same fest.
Gloam
I forgot that I was only checking out bands, and listened to this whole record.
Something tells me I’m going to end up with a full pass to Terrorfest after all.
