From Orcas Island to Iceland, I listened to lots of great music last week. My post about Car Seat Headrest reminded me to listen to Naked Giants, which led to another Doe Bay band, Animal Eyes. Then my husband discovered Nytt Land, which led to Skálmöld and Samaris. More about each of these below the fold.

Music I Liked – Un, Zuriaake, Wild Hunt
Last week I listened to three bands that were really good. I finally got around to listening to the last batch of Terrorfest bands (even though I still haven’t come up with money for tickets yet) and really liked the ungoogleable Un. Bandcamp alerts served up the other two – Zuriaake and Wild Hunt.

I’m not very good about keeping up with new releases. I barely even noticed with music release day switched from Tuesday to Friday. But a week ago, my phone blew up with bandcamp alerts about new releases from bands I like. So I listened to Hypno5e, Kalmah, and Pollens. And I liked it.

Music I Liked – Chthe’ilist, CAIRN, Jesus Christ Superstar
One day last week I couldn’t decide what I wanted to listen to. So I started scrolling through the music on my phone and only got to the letter “C” before I saw two names I didn’t recognize. I knew I’d listened to them and liked them well enough to download at some time in the past. So I listened to Chthe’ilist and CAIRN. And there was this TV musical thing, Jesus Christ Superstar.
