These days I’m studying Article 2 of the Constitution, which deals with the Executive branch of government. That’s a hot topic these days, and one our current Executive doesn’t seem to understand very well. Last time, I looked at Article 2 §1.4, which put Congress in charge of the electors. The electoral college makes me cranky. I’m glad to move on to Article 2 §1.5, which determines eligibility for the presidency. Spoiler Alert: intelligence isn’t on the list.

Welcome to Article 2 of the Constitution, which deals with the Executive branch of government. Last week I started with establishing the presidency in Section 1, Clause 1. This week, naturally, is about Article 2 §1.2. When I was a kid, this was a boring clause. I remember a middle school teacher saying, “Well, technically we don’t elect the president, the Electoral College does, but it works out the same.”

Oh frabjous day! After 13 months of studying the Constitution, I’m moving on to Article 2 today. Article 2 is the part of the Constitution that deals with the Executive branch of government. This should be interesting. Article 2 §1.1 establishes the Presidency.
