2015 Reading Challenge
February 10, 2016
Last year I set a reading challenge on Goodreads. I think it was for 35 books, but I hit the goal in September and raised the bar to 50.
I read a lot of middle grade and romance books, which tend to be short, so it inflates my count. At the end of the year, Goodreads made this cute little report on my reading habits that I thought would be fun to share here on the blog. After a bit of futzing around, I’ve given up on trying to keep the cute formatting. Sorry about that. I tried to make up for it by inserting links to related blog posts. Anyway, here’s what I read last year.

Now THAT is Visual Performance Management! James just changed high schools and I just got his literature list. Blah- Emerson, Thoreau, Twain. I asked the teacher where the female and minority writers were? I suggested Sylvia Plath and James Baldwin.
That is an old school list (although I like all three and hate Sylvia Plath). But Margaret Atwood would make for interesting classroom discussions. Last year (or was it 2014?) I tried to do my own VIDA count and track the diversity of my own reading. My efforts were severely hampered by my infatuation with all things Icelandic.
